A Living Dog Beats a Dead Lion

“For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” -Ecclesiastes 9:4.

First, I thank the Lord that I’ve been on this planet for just over 42 years. Second, I grateful for every educational opportunity He has given me. Third, I’m thankful for every job or position of responsbility I was ever given.

When I was in 8th grade, I wanted to be a business executive. It’s funny how I can be young and already now what I want to acheive in life. That is still the goal. I will still be a business executive my running my own business.

Right now, I am in a tough spot. I admit that I am financially ignorant. The past few years have exposed my lack of financial understading and application. However, I choose to acknowledge this and learn as much as I can. I want to get to the point where money not and issue and I am free to go out. I will teach my close friends and family accounting, so they start their own business. Poverty is not an ideal to strive for.

I spent six years in my own apartment in Adelphi, MD. It took about 4 missed rent payments and 45 minutes to get all my stuff out there.

Contrary to silly ass opinions, I am not a robot. I am man, a human being that was created and is loved by the Lord God. I laugh and like to make jokes with my friends. I cried in a car and told God I was sorry because I wanted to show Him that was being a good steward/manager and not taking things for granted. I told that Him I wanted to show my younger cousins to go for their dreams and not let anyone discourage them.

The Lord knows the truth. I don’t know anyone here like that in Baltimore. I am here because I have a work and online school opportunity. I don’t want them to know that I don’t have shelter. I go to work , to work. I go to school to get an education. I show up work because it’s my personal responsibility. I don’t show up to appease anyone.

In hindsight and moving forward, I am focused on achieving my goals. I don’t care what others might be thinking or actually saying about me. There are people whose opinions and actions have hold no weight in the context of the world. I don’t like being around people who gossip, like or bad mouth others.

Who you are and what you did in high school does not define you. Someone’s mistaken or misguided assessment of who you are should not determine anything about you. I lived long enough to say that outloud.

I’m glad I decided to finish my master’s degree at Towson University and my graduate certificate at the University of Balitmore. Definitely highlights.
